McKenzie :: Just Because…

Amber waves of grain… A friend of mine started a photography business some time ago and we just decided to go out and have some fun.  Her daughter McKenzie was perfect for us.  She put on a cute little sundress, picked up her sunglasses and suitcase and off we went out to the wheat fields nearby.  When the sun hits the wheat in the evening it just glows that golden amber color.  I shot with my D2Xs and my 70-200 2.8 lens.  I love shooting into the sunset with my lens hood on.  If you position the sun into the top side of your frame, just ever so slightly, you bring into your shot a dreamy fog that adds glow to your shot.  You can bring in as much or as little as you like depending on the look you want to produce. Once upon a time, lens flare was a no no.  Now?  Oww la la, I find it where ever I can!  I think my business is based off lens flare.  My settings stayed pretty close to: ISO 200, 1/200, 2.8.  On the shots below with the dandelion, I shot with my 50mm 1.4 at ISO 200, 1/200, 1.4.  Dreamy:)

Enjoy! Jen
