Meet my lovely little friend, Jordyn. She’s 12. She is a ballerina and has danced since she could walk. I wanted to shoot some ballet pics in an environment that wasn’t normal for them. My sister-in-law is opening a dance studio called Loft and we are test shooting for the artwork and marketing. I love the way it turned out! I used my 50mm 1.4 most of the time, yet chose to shoot on 3.5 so I could get her in focus. For the couple of jump shots, I focused on the spot I thought she would land, hold focus and press the shutter down all the way while she was in the air. She was so cute and noticeable, we had a small restaurant watching us as we worked. I love it when my subject draws attention and Jordyn was quite the performer for them! Jordyn has competed and won many competitions all over the United States. Her lines, flexibility, strength, facial expression, poise and grace were just stunning! Jordyn has just gone en pointe. Typically a dancer does not go en pointe until their feet have matured and their bones have hardened enough, usually around 12-15 years of age. I’m excited to see her take ballet as far as she can get!

LOVELY picturesss u have sooo beltfiuulay captured the excitement and fun that the pretty lil grils are having ..The garden is just truly stunning and the rich colour of the b-day girl stands out perfectly and oh the beautiful colourful ballllooooonsss ,not to forget the presence of different shades of pink colour everywhere and u teaching them danceeee !I enjoyed watching the pictures which helped me visualize how much fun the party was ..Verrrry welll donee sweeeety !*LOVEEE n HUGSS*
